Just keep swimming....the journey of faces ...

Learning to draw faces.  For some reason I seem to add years to my faces. And attitudes!  I guess I just need to keep going.
This is an early gal. Looks fine. But boring.
From Jeanne Oliver Studying under the Masters class.  Can you tell it's Frida?

But then....what the?    Holy cow I flopped this one!   I seemed to add 50 years and a bad attitude to thi beauty.

The colorful forest project or giving back to the community or just keep going...

I love to work with my buddy Carol.  She has such a great sense of color and she has a free spirit approach to art.  So when I got a call to produce a mural on a wall in a kids reading area I knew I had to ask Carol for assistance.

Day one

And Day two

At first we were struggling with colors and textures but Carol has such a great attitude.   She always tells me to keep going when I tell her I don't like how something is turning out.  I love that!
And so We Did

patience- remembering to let her have her perfect work

so, i got the mac.  i got the blog name.  i got the ebook.  but learning the program (photoshop cs3) is proving
                          f  r  u  s t r a t i n g.
truly.

i am watching a tutorial on how to make a simple banner for my blog and it is assuming i know where the buttons are.  and they are so small and i can barely see them and ......and i know nothing.   nothing.{breathing}
i just opened the program for the first time.  yikes!   this is going to take more patience than i thought.

{more breathing}  but the promise is to let her have her perfect work so i can be perfect and entire, lacking nothing.

so, i guess i need to go back to the beginning and patiently learn.

{still breathing}

from a series of shuffles to a step

today marks the day that i begin to take steps toward the desires in my heart.
the gal who speaks my truth says, "step out to find out".
so today i did.
i knew this sale came up once a year so i have been saving and saving so i could buy it.  it is on my list of items to purchase this year.  yep, it is kelly rae roberts flying lessons - the whole shebang!   i have been waiting for the time to purchase this course for a few years.  probably since it first came out.
one big step for me.

i had another big step last week when i was able to purchase an older model macbook pro loaded with adobe photoshop cs3.   i have been spending the week trying to get familiar with it so when i take getting to know photoshop and illustrator by pattern observer i will at least know how to cut and paste (which i still forget- oh right mouse click would be so much easier!).

so.....

stay tuned friends, she is going from a series of shuffles to a step.

day one. first. blog. post.

day 1.  first.blog.post

spent the day home from work.  felt crappy yesterday and this morning was only a smidgen better.  but it was so hard for me to decide to stay home from work.
its okay to rest.
its okay to get better.
its okay to spend the day home.

i caught up on some blog videos.  watched Jeanne Oliver Creativity Takes Courage Bari Ackerman interview.  Love. LOve. LOVE Jeanne Oliver and loved this interview.   loved the continued courage Bari Ackerman showed as she just kept moving and figuring things out.  she kept pursuing her passion even when her passions kept changing.  she kept making smarter choices with her creative products.

take a look at bari ackerman's website and prepare to be inspired.

until next time....

keep making the world beautiful with your words and your art
